Listing Standards
How a clinic gets listed, what each label means, and how to fix a mistake.
Our Rules
- Every price comes from the clinic's own website or from the clinic directly. We copy it exactly and show the clinic's own wording.
- We read each price twice, on separate passes, before it goes up.
- We never estimate, average or guess a price. If a clinic does not post a price, we do not list the clinic until it does or confirms one with us.
- Every price shows a source link and the date we checked it. Prices older than 6 months get an out-of-date warning and drop out of our lowest-price tables.
- No clinic pays to be listed, to rank higher or to be verified.
- We make no claims about what acupuncture treats. Nothing here is medical advice.
What The Verified Lines Mean
- Verified by phone on [date]
- We called the clinic and they confirmed the prices and hours shown.
- Verified online on [date]
- We read the prices on the clinic's own website twice. We have not called yet.
- Not yet verified
- Kept in our notes only. These are never shown on the site.
Labels
- Community Acupuncture
- Only when the clinic confirms all three: treatment in a shared room, a sliding scale, and visits under an hour.
- Sliding Scale
- The clinic posts a price range you choose from.
- Accepts Insurance
- The clinic says it is in network with at least one insurer. We list insurers in the clinic's own words. Check your own plan.
- Accepts HSA/FSA
- The clinic says it takes HSA or FSA cards.
Practitioner Names And Credentials
We show each practitioner's credentials exactly as the clinic writes them. We do not add titles. We do not confirm licenses ourselves: the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board says its online directory cannot be used for license verification and asks people to contact the Board.
Fix Or Remove A Listing
Clinics can correct, update or remove a listing for free. Anyone can report a price change.
